Jeffrey Myers, the rabbi for the Tree of Life Synagogue where the recent Pittsburgh massacre took place, has received death threats for welcoming President Trump to the city to pay his respects to the victims of the shooting.
“The President of the United States is always welcome. I am a citizen, he is my president. He is always welcome,” the rabbi said.
Trump’s most shrill critics have claimed that his rhetoric somehow caused the shooting, but refuse to believe that their own apocalyptic declarations could have any consequences.
