The Affordable Care Act, aka Obamacare, has given Americans little more than rising premiums and decreased choice in regard to healthcare. “[M]illions of Americans now have far fewer choices when it comes to their doctor and health care network.”
Rather than allowing big government to impede our healthcare system any longer, Genevieve Wood at the Daily Signal recommends an, “option [that] would redirect our current system—putting patients and doctors in the driver’s seat, making health care providers and insurance companies compete for customers.”
“What if we tried the completely opposite approach,” she writes, “and put individuals and patients, also known as consumers, in the driver’s seat? As opposed to the government deciding which medical and insurance providers get your tax dollars, you decide.”
Obamacare has been cast in some legal doubt recently, with a Federal Judge in Texas ruling the Individual Mandate, a key provision of the Affordable Care Act, unconstitutional.
