The Conservative Caucus is presenting a petition with more than 46,000 signatures to six Republican congressional leaders, calling on them to stand with President Trump against the effort to drive him from office. Identical petitions with more than 20,000 signatures were delivered at the end of 2017.
The petitions are in reaction to efforts by Democrats and establishment Republicans to remove Trump from office or undermine his presidency. The House has already voted twice on impeachment resolutions and legislation has been introduced to begin the removal process provided by the Twenty-fifth Amendment.
The petitions are being presented to Speaker Paul Ryan, House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy, House Minority Leader Steve Scalise, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, Senate Minority Leader John Cornyn, and Senate Republican conference chairman John Thune.
The Conservative Caucus is a grass roots public policy action organization, formed in 1974. It was active in defeating the SALT II Treaty, repealing the Catastrophic Coverage Act, blocking the Clinton health-care takeover, impeaching President Clinton, stopping amnesty for illegal aliens, and persuading the House of Representatives to sue the President regarding ObamaCare.
The Conservative Caucus is a public policy organization, contributions to which are not tax deductible. The IRS has determined TCC to be a 501(c)(4) organization, exempt from Federal income tax. TCC can receive corporate donations.
