Grass roots lobbying by groups such as The Conservative Caucus has forced House Republicans to oppose amnesty. Speaker John Boehner recently confirmed this fact, complaining that he could not persuade members to vote for "immigration reform" (i.e. amnesty) because the vote would anger the voters back home.

The Conservative Caucus is a public policy organization, contributions to which are not tax deductible. The IRS has determined TCC to be a 501(c)(4) organization, exempt from Federal income tax. TCC can receive corporate donations.
