Dear Secretary McHugh:
I have been appalled to read about the treatment of Major Matt Golsteyn, a decorated veteran and seen as a hero by the men who served with him. It is inexcusable that his Silver Star was revoked and that the Army now seeks to end his career, all through confidential administrative star-chamber proceedings.
If you believe that Major Golsteyn has violated the UCMJ or other US law, file formal charges against him and give him a chance to defend himself. If you do not have the evidence to proceed with formal charges, you should apologize, return his silver star, and restore him to duty.
