For two years, ICE placed a detainer on an illegal alien in New York City, but ten separate time the city insisted on releasing him in accordance with their sanctuary policy. He has finally been arrested by Federal authorities for violating gun laws, and is expected to be deported.

An illegal alien in Phoenix has been arrested for attempting to murder a police officer. The police are expected to honor an ICE detainer so that the alien can be deported.

During Fiscal Year 2019, local law enforcement cooperating with ICE under the 287(g) program dealt with nearly 2,000 illegal aliens charged with serious crimes such as assault, homicide, and weapons violations.
