Since Dems took the House a week ago, President Trump has been facing pressure to cave on his historic tax cuts, with some advocating for raising the corporate tax rate from 21 to 25 percent. President Reagan once faced similar pressure to compromise on tax cuts. He refused and his determination paid off.
“Trump's corporate tax rate reduction was a historic achievement…. Raising the corporate tax rate now would stop the economic recovery in its tracks, curbing the long-term investments needed to fuel long-term economic growth,” Bruce Thompson of the Washington Examiner wrote, “Like Reagan, Trump needs to stay the course on his tax cuts.”
